Prayers for Everyday

by Rev. Carlee Hallman

RAIN! RAIN!

A third day of drenching rain
in the Washington, D.C. area, Lord.
Does this have something to do
with the political stalemate
on the health care plan
and funding the government?
Ah, Lord, would that our leaders
would work things out
without hurting the little guy.
Guide our nation, Lord.
Lead us to do what is best
for everyone, not just the few.
You have been our strength
in the past, be with us yet.
Be with us yet.

Psalm 29:3:
The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over mighty waters.

Isaiah 58:6:
Is this not the fast I choose; to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?
