Prayers for Everyday

ALL SAINTS DAY

Ah, Lord, this has been a year
of personal loss:
my husband’s cousin,
just over a year ago,
my daughter’s best beloved,
and my great nephew.
We miss them, but we celebrate
their entrance into your heavenly kingdom.
We also celebrate those
in our retirement complex
whose names have been listed
on the bulletin board of our building.
We place our hope in you, Lord,
that we will be together again.

Hebrews 12:1-2a:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.
