What a surprise, Lord.
On the morning after Halloween,
my husband and I
discovered two little bags
of Halloween treats
on the shelf outside our apartment.
One of the ladies on the floor
of our apartment building
celebrates by delivering
candy treats to the 20
people on our floor.
It’s a wonderful gift of caring,
like manna in the wilderness.
Thank you, Lord, for gifts
and for the givers.

Numbers 11:7-8:
Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color was the color of gum resin. The people went around and gathered it, ground it in mills or beat it in mortars, then boiled it in pots, and made a cake of it; and the taste of it was like the taste of cakes baked in oil.
