Prayers for Everyday

AFTER CHRISTMAS

O Lord, as my husband
dismantles the Christmas decorations,
I am still not ready
to go back to ordinary life.
It took several days for him
to set everything up,
and it will take several days
to disassemble everything.
At least with an artificial tree
I don’t have to worry about
falling needles.
Even so, I don’t want to leave
this magical world
where all things are still possible.
Let me dream a little longer, Lord.

Joel 1:1, 2:28-29:
The word of the Lord that came to Joel son of Pethuel: Then afterward I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female slaves, in those days, I will pour out my spirit.
