Prayers for Everyday

by Rev. Carlee Hallman

COMFORT NEEDED

Lord, yesterday
when my husband phoned friends,
whom we had gotten to know
in our retirement community,
to meet us for dinner,
the husband answered
and said his wife had died that morning
and that his sons were with him.
What a shock!
Lord, surround them with your love.
Comfort them with your presence.
We need you, Lord, in times of sorrow.

Psalm 23:4: (KJV)
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
