Prayers for Everyday

When the cars were covered with snow,
it looked like we wouldn’t get out for awhile.
But we had a coffee hour, Lord,
with many cookies, fruit, and nuts,
put on by one of the floors
of our apartment building.
It was our monthly get together
to meet new residents
and talk with friends.
Later, we picked up dinner in a paper bag
to take to our apartment,
because the waiters and waitresses
couldn’t get in to serve it.
Thank you, Lord, for all those
who see that our needs are met.

Psalm 46:1-3:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
