Our poetry group met yesterday
to read poems with the residents
of the assisted living facility, Lord.
We read our own poems
and poems written by others.
One person read a sonnet
by Shakespeare and shared
interesting insights about it.
Lord, you quoted the Psalms
when you preached and talked
with the disciples. Poets put
our feelings into words.
Thank you, Lord, for poets.

Matthew 21:42:
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is amazing in our eyes’?” (Psalm 118:22-23)

Hymn: Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates (Psalm 24:9)
