KEEPING FIT

Lord, I confess I love shopping —
looking at everything —
before making a decision.
It’s my form of exercise.
Yesterday, I only looked
through one store before I gave out.
In our retirement community
some people use catalogues to shop.
I like to see clothes and try them on.
You dressed simply, Lord,
and had a seamless tunic.
Perhaps someone made it for you.
You got exercise walking
from town to town.
Help me to keep properly fit, Lord,
to be a capable servant.

Mark 10:32:
They were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them; they were amazed , and those who followed were afraid.

John 19:23-24a:
When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one for each soldier. They also took his tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from the top. So they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see who will get it.”
