Prayers for Everyday

AGING

O Lord, in this retirement community
I am about middle age,
with many older, and many younger.
Lord, you died at about 33,
so you didn’t experience old age.
People want to grow old
until they get there
with all its aches and pains.
Then they may not be so sure.
Help me to do my best, Lord,
and live a life growing ever closer to you
so that someday I may meet you face to face.

Psalm 71:17-18:
O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to all the generations to come.
