Prayers for Everyday

MEMORY WORK

Ah Lord, unless we have planned
to go to dinner with someone,
the staff asks if we would like
to add others to our table.
We enjoy the company.
But now that we’ve been here awhile,
the additions are often people
we’ve eaten with before,
and I wish I could remember
their names. My husband
is better at this than I am.
We are grateful that you
remember everyone by name, Lord.
Help me remember names.

Luke 10:20:
“Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
