Prayers for Everyday

Dear Lord, this morning
my husband picked daffodils
from our garden for our dining room table
and for the little shelf outside our door.
They have been blooming
for over two weeks now.
Some of the other gardeners
don’t pick their daffodils.
They just like to see them in the garden.
I can’t understand that, Lord.
Flowers are such a source of inspiration.
Their beauty lifts us up.

Luke 12:27:
“Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.”
