Lord, last Sunday the text
was about Thomas and his
wanting to see and touch you
in order to believe
that you had really risen from the dead.
He saw you, and believed.
Now the Vatican has changed its rule
and allowed only one miracle
instead of two for sainthood.
Lord, what are we coming to?
We enjoy babies being born,
new grass growing, and people
changing their ways every day,
but we don’t call them miracles.
Whatever we call these things, Lord,
open our hearts to your presence. Amen.

John 20:27-29:
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”
