Dear Lord, today we remember
those who died in wars
to keep our country free.
We, also, remember friends
and relatives who have died.
When I was a child
I went with my grandma
to decorate graves on this day.
It is a solemn time.
It is a natural thing to die, Lord,
but it is another thing to be killed.
Lead nations into peaceful ways,
that all people may live
and grow in wisdom in old age. Amen.
Happy are those who find wisdom, and those who get understanding, for her income is better than silver, and her revenue better than gold! She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare to her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called happy.
