Prayers for Everyday

Ah, Lord, last week
two of my husband’s friends
and former string quartet players died.
One of them was supposed
to play with him on Saturday
at our Sing-a-long.
They were a few years older
than we are, but it reminds us that
we, too, will not live forever.
Be with those who are left, Lord.
Give strength and comfort. Amen.

Psalm 119:76-77:
Let your steadfast love become my comfort according to your promise to your servant. Let your mercy come to me, that I may live; for your law is my delight.
