Gracious God, it’s time to plant pansies
in the window box on the balcony
of our retirement apartment.
Flowers are such a wonderful part of your creation.
They tell of your care.
People bring flowers to shut-ins
to brighten their day.
Flowers grace weddings and funerals.
They decorate banquet tables
and inspire lovers.
Children love to pick them.
Thank you, Gracious God,
for this reminder of your love.
Matthew 6:28b-30
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.  But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
