FLOWERS REMIND

Dear Lord, dandelions line the paths.
Children pick them for bouquets for mother.
Big brother delights in showing
how to curl stems in water.
Dandelions are the gold of childhood.
Violets and forget-me-nots
continue to give cheer
as daffodils fade.
Dear Lord, the succession of flowers
reminds us of your continuous care.
Thank you, Lord, for your love.  Amen.

Song of Solomon 2:12-13
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.  The fig tree puts forth its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance.
