Almighty God, another friend
has passed from our side to your side.
He was a devout churchman.
As new people move in
and fill up the space,
we wonder about our own mortality.
God Our Father, we look forward
to being with you more completely one day,
but are also reticent about leaving here.
We don’t want to become a burden
to our loved ones.
We pray for a peaceful passage
from your care on earth
to your care in heaven. Amen.
“’Indeed they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.’”
