O Lord, the food here is so good
in our retirement home,
that I eat too much.
I have gained weight
when I thought I was losing it.
I could point out, Lord,
that some are worse than I am.
But that’s not the point, is it?
We were taught to “clean up our plates,”
but now, Lord, it would be better
to toss out food
that our bodies don’t need.
We who are overweight
certainly don’t need dessert.
Lord, give me strength to say, “No”. Amen.
“And forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.”
