O Lord, when I sit quietly with closed eyes,
the possibilities are endless,
but when I begin to move, reality restricts
and tasks of living intrude.
As I gaze at the clouds,
where heaven once enticed,
but now astronauts traverse
on their way to other worlds,
I wonder where to see your kingdom, Lord?
Is it only in the mind
and work of human saints?
Or will this earth and other worlds
provide living space?
Lord, we want all to be saved:
the good, the bad, and the indifferent.
Your love surrounds and gives us faith
that whatever lies ahead,
we are with you. Amen.
They were greatly astounded and said to one another, “Then who can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but not for God; for God all things are possible.”
