Rev. Carlee Hallman is author of Abide with Me: Prayers for Life’ Eventide that contains more than 100 brief prayers, each accompanied by a scriptural reference. They are grouped into six topical sections: asking, confession, lament, presence, thank you, and trust. Rev. Carlee also has a book Moving On: Prayers for Relocating to a Retirement Community.  Her husband Howard Hallman has provided some prayers from a masculine viewpoint. They wrote this book as they were considering a move from their house to a continuing care retirement community. The prayers reflect the stages of deciding to move, picking a place to go, selling the house, physically moving, and settling in. It is hoped that these prayers can be beneficial for other persons going through a similar journey and for persons who counsel them. Howard Hallman has a book Living in God’s Kingdom: Here and Now. The book starts with the Two Great Commandments: love of God and love of neighbor with Jesus’ addition, love of neighbor. Then it builds a foundation of spiritual life and considers practical application of love in action with particular concern fr mercy, justice, and peace.
